Tender and garlicky — these green beans are my family’s favorite side dish and probably the one I make the most often!

These Garlic Green Beans belong in your weekly dinner rotation. They’re so easy to make and ready in only 20 minutes. Plus, and this is the most important part, these green beans have lots of flavor!

Also you should know that my sister in-law, who hates beans of all kinds, swears these are the only ones she’ll eat. Basically you have to like them now. That’s what I’m saying.

I typically use frozen green beans for this recipe because I always have those on hand. I keep the freezer stocked with bags of them so they’re always available for a quick meal. Of course you can use fresh green beans but your cooking time may vary slightly.

To make, you’ll sauté the green beans in olive oil with salt and minced garlic. THAT’S IT. That’s really all you need to create this truly spectacular side.

Warning: I rarely make a single batch. I usually double it up because we demolish them.

Garlic Green Beans

By Christina
These Garlic Green Beans are tender and garlicky. My family can't get enough of them!
Prep: 5 minutes
Cook: 20 minutes
Total: 20 minutes
Servings: 6 people

Ingredients

  • 16 oz green beans, frozen, can use fresh but you'll need to increase cook time
  • 2 tbsp olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • salt

Instructions

  • In a nonstick pan add your green beans and olive oil. Cover with a lid. Cook for 10-15 minutes on medium heat. Stir often as the green beans will stick to the pan. You want to continue to move those browned green beans to the top so that the others start to brown too.
  • Lower heat to low. Add your garlic. Stir. Cover. Cook for another 2-4 minutes. You'll know they're done when all of them have gone from that really bright green to a more darker shade.
  • Salt.
  • Serve.
  • Make more the next night.
  • And maybe the next night. Because they're just that good.

Easiest, quickest, tastiest side dish your whole fam will love.  We make these once a week at our house and I know all 3 of my daughters will eat them and enjoy them just as much as my hubs and I do. I always keep green beans in the freezer so I can make this anytime. Who knew it could be so easy to make something so tasty?!
