Cilantro Citrus Vinaigrette
I bet you’ll love this citrusy vinaigrette! It’s naturally sweet and the perfect addition to any summery salad. Just blend the ingredients together and enjoy!
Update: This recipe was originally published in 2016 and has been republished with all new photos.
This Cilantro Citrus Vinaigrette reminds me of summer. Warm days. Sunshine. Eating our meals on the porch while the kids play in the grass. Sign me up for all of that!
It’s a little sweet (but not overwhelmingly so) and a little tangy. A completely refreshing way to compliment your salad.
Plus it’s so simple. You just toss everything in a blender and go! Yes please.
More great news. This dressing is Whole30 compliant and gluten free. There’s no sugar. No dairy. No complicated ingredient list of little known items you probably don’t have.
It keeps well in the refrigerator. Just seal it in a jar and give it a shake before serving. Since it includes no dairy it’s one of my favorite dressings to bring with me to a restaurant if I’m worried about the dressing selection there.
For this recipe you’ll need (full list of ingredients and instructions are in the recipe card below):
- Light olive oil
- Oranges or orange juice
- Lime juice
- Cilantro
- Apple cider vinegar
- Salt
To make the dressing just squeeze the juice from two oranges into the blender (or use 1/2 cup of orange juice). Add the remaining ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth. It’s that easy!
Why use light olive oil instead of extra virgin?
Friends, I love extra virgin olive oil. I use it in absolutely everything except dressings and mayo. It is too thick, oily, and strong tasting to blend effectively into most dressings. You definitely want to use the light olive oil in this recipe.
How to serve this
This dressing is delicious on pretty much every salad so use whatever toppings you want. A simple summery combo I recommend is romaine, strawberries, oranges, goat cheese, and grilled chicken. Top that with this Cilantro Citrus Vinaigrette and you have one perfect meal!
How to store this
Store any remaining dressing in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
