This shrimp sautés in butter, lemon juice, and garlic and is ready in under 10 minutes! Serve over pasta or roasted veggies for a meal that really impresses in no time at all.

Garlic, butter, and lemon. Is there a better flavor combo? I think not.

This simple shrimp is the perfect solution when you’re short on time and have zero inclination to cook! Trust me, anyone can handle this dish. Shrimp cooks so quickly – in just 3 to 5 minutes. Plus the buttery sauce requires only a few ingredients. You really can’t beat this fast entree.

Entertaining? This shrimp is also delicious as an appetizer. Might want to make a double batch though! It doesn’t last long.

For this recipe you’ll need (full list of ingredients and instructions are in the recipe card below):

  • Butter or ghee
  • Shrimp
  • Lemon juice
  • Minced garlic
  • Parsley
  • Salt and pepper

Start by seasoning the shrimp with salt and pepper. Then sauté the shrimp in butter or ghee until pink.

Add lemon juice and minced garlic. Stir and cook for another minute.

Stir in chopped fresh parsley and serve. So fast and easy!

Can you use frozen shrimp?

Do not add frozen shrimp directly to the skillet. You’re welcome to use frozen shrimp but you’ll need to thaw it first. There are two ways to do this:

Place the bag of frozen shrimp in a bowl in the refrigerator to thaw naturally.

If you’re short on time, an alternative method for thawing is to run cold water (never warm or hot water) over the bag of shrimp. It only takes about 10 to 15 minutes to thaw them this way.

Should you leave the tails on the shrimp?

Leave the tails on or remove them. It’s really just a matter of personal preference. If you’re enjoying as an appetizer or serving a crowd, you might prefer the look of these with the tails on.

Can you double this recipe?

This is a great recipe to double! Just be sure to use a large enough skillet if you’ll be making 2 lbs of shrimp. I recommend a 12″ skillet so there’s plenty of room.

How to serve this

Want to keep this low carb, Whole30, or paleo? Serve this Lemon Butter Shrimp over roasted vegetables (I recommend my Easy Roasted Broccoli) or zoodles.

Want to make this Lemon Butter Shrimp even more indulgent? Serve over pasta.

This meal satisfies either way you do it.
