Ground Turkey & Potato Skillet
Wondering what to make tonight? Quickly throw together this hearty one pot meal of turkey and potatoes! Serve over roasted veggies, traditional rice, or cauliflower rice for a healthy and satisfying dinner.
This Ground Turkey & Potato Skillet was loosely inspired by a classic picadillo. It has very different flavors – a picadillo includes olives and raisins. That’s not going to fly with my children. Or my husband, if I’m being honest. But I wanted to take that general idea and make it family friendly with very simple ingredients. We all need hobbies and that’s mine.
This meal is an accurate reflection of my favorite kind of meal to make at home. It may not be the prettiest, but it’s tasty. The addition of potatoes keeps it hearty. And it’s just so easy! This is exactly the sort of comfort food I need in my life right now. How about you?
To create this meal, you’ll start by seasoning and browning the ground turkey. Set aside. (Of course you can easily use a lean ground beef if that’s what you have on hand or prefer.)
Then the potatoes go in the pan to get a little color. Now incorporate the turkey, garlic, tomato sauce, water, and more seasonings. Reduce the heat, cover, and let it all simmer until your potatoes are tender.
It’s next to impossible to screw this up. It’s just that easy!
What potatoes are best to use?
I prefer yellow or gold potatoes. But russet, sweet, or red would all work beautifully too!
How to serve this skillet meal?
Oh there are so many ways to serve up this easy meal. You can clearly enjoy it as is and it’s just perfect. Flavorful. Healthy. Satiating thanks to those potatoes.
But perhaps you want to add something to stretch this dish a bit further? I know I always like something green on our plates! Pile this delicious combo of turkey and potatoes over roasted veggies like my Spicy Roasted Broccoli or Easy Roasted Broccoli (if you don’t like heat). That will give you an added boost of vegetables! This is also crazy delicious over traditional or cauliflower rice!
Other veggies that work beautifully either layered under or just served beside this skillet meal are Garlic Green Beans, Simple Sautéed Cabbage, or Roasted Green Beans with Almonds.
Want to add a salad to your meal? My Blueberry Citrus Salad or my Berry Avocado Salad have a hint of sweetness which will balance out the strong flavor of this popular dish!
No matter how you choose to serve this, you’re going to love it. This recipe earns rave reviews on Instagram for good reason!
Ground Turkey & Potato Skillet
Ingredients
Ground Turkey
- 1 lb lean ground turkey, I use 93/7. You can use ground beef if you prefer.
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
Potatoes
- 2 tbsp olive or avocado oil
- 4 cups diced potatoes, Dice small to ensure they cook quickly.
- 8 oz canned tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tsp garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp dried parsley
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
Instructions
- Add your ground turkey (or beef) to a skillet on the stovetop. Use your spatula to crumble the meat. Cook on medium high, stirring occasionally, until browned. Stir in salt, pepper, garlic powder, chili powder, and oregano. Remove from pan and set aside.
- Add the oil to the skillet. Once the oil is hot, add the diced potatoes. Sauté on medium high heat, stirring occasionally until sides of potatoes have browned. This can take 5 to 10 minutes depending on your stove and the size of your potatoes.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add your cooked ground turkey, tomato sauce, water, minced garlic, oregano, basil, parsley, salt, pepper, and onion powder to the skillet with potatoes. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
- Taste and add more salt or pepper if desired.
- Serve over roasted vegetables (I recommend my Spicy Roasted Broccoli or Easy Roasted Broccoli), traditional rice, or cauliflower rice.

Delicious! Everything was on point!!
Super good. My boys (super picky eaters) LOVED this. Its a Christmas miracle quite frankly. I was only lacking parsley, so I did an extra dash of oregano and basil. Melting a little cheese when you serve it didn’t hurt either. Serving on top of sauted broccoli and cauliflower = parenting win! Cheers!
Such an easy meal to throw together with lots of flavor! I’m all about fast and easy with kids and you always nail it! Adding this one on repeat!
That’s so great to hear! Thank you so much!!
I’m enjoying trying your recipes
Thank you! So happy to hear that!
Just tried this recipe, potatoes are still not tender after 42 minutes of simmering. Clearly not accurate, I recommend boiling them first
Hi Andrew. This is definitely accurate. I would recommend making sure your potatoes are diced small enough and that your stovetop heat is high enough. This is how we make skillet potatoes weekly. 😉 Enjoy your weekend!
So yummy!!! The whole family was very skeptical at first, but then asked for seconds. A perfect combination of spices.
Was looking for a good ground turkey recipe. Found this one, it looked and sounded good so I decided to give it a shot. Its very good and easy to make, but kind of on the salty side for me. Next time I’ll use 1/2 the salt in the ingredients list.
I’ve made this recipe 4 times in the last two months. Love that it uses things I usually already have around the house and it’s quick! It also reheats really well with eggs for breakfast the next day!
Easy to make I added kale to mine at the end give it some color
Great recipe. Different. But Taste great.
This recipe was excellent! I had tomato basil sauce open in the fridge and used that instead of the tomato sauce. I served it over roasted cauliflower and asparagus. Delish! Next time I’ll add sliced mushrooms to the skillet.
I love this meal, especially with the broccoli added. I used White sweet potatoes since we prefer then to regular also added some mushrooms. Yummy will be making again soon
I have diced onion in my fridge could I sub that for the powder?
You sure could
You can certainly use the onion but you may want to adjust your seasonings in your turkey a little to compensate!
Made this last night for the first time. So much flavor! We added avocado on top and served with asparagus. I think it’s a new favorite.
Delicious and easy to make. Thank you for another great recipe!
Basic meal that turned out pretty great ! I wish I would’ve tried the roasted veggies but I’ll save that for next time. My wife & I completely destroyed our plates and is also very filling. Would recommend to any family
I tried this recipe and added onions to the skillet. It was delicious! Such a different flavor. I served it over roasted summer squash and zucchinis. I’ll definitely be making this again. It’s always nice to have something different to do with ground turkey, especially because my household can only eat poultry and fish. Thanks for the recipe!
This is a bomb dish. We loved it
The whole family loves it. So full of flavor. I served it with squash and it was a perfect combination.
Such and easy and last minute meal to make if you’re running out of ideas. I wanted something new, yet easy to make so I tried making this last night for dinner. So flavorful and so good! My husband and I enjoyed this. Loved how this turned out. It’s just simple ingredients around the house.
This was quick, easy, and delicious! I will be adding it to my meal rotation.
My mom used to make this when we were little! With a side of sopita de fideo and a Tortilla! Thank you for your technique it’s really going to help a lot. Now I know what to make for dinner tonight 😊
This is amazing I love all the flavor I’m currently waiting for my husband to get home so we can sit and eat it but of course I had a taste of it I added a pocket of onion soup mix just for extra flavor thank you so much this nailed it! I’m going to serve with roasted cauliflower yum
Finally got around to making this and WOW! So good and easy! Not sure what took me so long to make this. This is the second recipe I’ve made off your website and both were winners. Will definitely be making this again.
So good and easy!
Thank you! Happy to hear it!
Came out perfect! I pour over steamed broccoli. I’m intermittent fasting, so this was the perfect meal for me, during my eating window. I may try and substitute the potatoes with zucchini, next time. 😁🥰
So glad you enjoyed it!
This was so good!!!!
Really delicious meal. It was hearty and simple which I love. Loved that all the ingredients are kitchen staples
We loved it! My husband and I decided to make it into a mini breakfast-for-dinner type of meal and we added melted shredded cheddar cheese with an over-easy egg on top of each plate at the end. It all came together very nicely with the flavors! We didn’t end up serving it with any veggies this time, but I plan on throwing it into our rotation and experimenting with different veggies next time.
My wife called it a hash! We loved it. Skipped the tomato sauce but added a little hot sauce. Perfect!
Just made this for the first time and it’s delicious! I served it over roasted broccoli and it really rounded out the dish. My entire family enjoyed it, even my 8 year old. This is going to be staple.
Thank you for a quick, easy, and tasty dinner. It seems like a dish that you fuss over when really it is so simple. My family loved it.
Will definitely be making this again!
This was so flavorful and absolutely delicious! Looking forward to discovering more yummy recipes on your site.
Delicious and super peasy
Such a simple and tasty recipe. Definitely on our make again list. We put this over white rice and I like to add a little Tabasco Chipotle hot sauce on top. Highly recommended recipe.
This is delicious! The seasonings are just right! Great with broccoli.
I made this and WOW! So yummy with a little dollop if sour cream and shredded cheese it’s perfection!
My family and I polished off the entire recipe along with a batch of the Easy Roasted Broccoli you suggested. We’ll definitely be adding this to our rotation. Glad I saw the comments to dice the potatoes pretty small. Thanks for sharing!
Very tasty and quick
We liked it too! I added a diced (red) bell pepper with the potatoes. Trying to work in those veggies! Thanks for the recipe.
I liked this recipe. My picky family was so-so about it. My 14 year old thought it had too much spice, but he is hard to please. I think this might also be good in a calzone or burrito. Many options with this recipe. I did not have tomato sauce so I used spaghetti sauce.
Love this recipe. Made for first time tonight. Will definitely be adding this to my regular rotation. I served over roasted green beans.
Easy, delicious and family approved!!
I used Spanish tomato sauce, added some sazon, and used adobo instead of salt, and served it over rice! Taste like pollo guisado with ground turkey! It was delicious!!!
Didn’t have tomato sauce, so substituted with one cup of salsa. This was really delicious!
Great recipe, followed it exactly how it was wrote came out delicious. Thank yoh
This looks delicious! My family loves taco night so will have to try this recipe soon!
Just not tasty…it looked good in the picture, but it just didn’t taste good.
I love this! My 6 year old son loves it and I added some shredded carrots too. It’s really delicious and easy.
I want to make this-it sounds perfect and has rave reviews. I don’t have canned tomato sauce. I have canned tomato paste and canned diced and crushed tomatoes. I also have basic Prego traditional spaghetti sauce. Will any combination of these be acceptable or must I wait for the next grocery trip? 🙂
I haven’t tested them with those but I’d assume you could make it work and just see a minor change in the end result. 😉
We make this often at our house since trying it from your recipe. Thanks for sharing!!
I always have ground turkey or meat of some kind and I’ve been trying to think of new ways to cook it … this is awesome because I can switch up the veggies I serve it over. The spice mixture is awesome-kinda Italian/Hispanic-ish
I’ve made it twice now in a week and a half!
The only thing I’ve encountered is it usually takes an extra 5 minutes of cooking the potatoes with everything in them. (Though I may be using bigger chunks).
So glad you enjoyed and thank you for taking the time to leave a rating! Yes, potatoes can definitely take longer if they’re in larger chunks!
The directions are very confusing for this recipe and the spices don’t line up with the first step for meat and the third step for potatoes (ie it says minced garlic but then garlic powder, chili powder isn’t listed as an ingredient but then says to be added?)
Hi Laura, both garlic powder and chili powder are listed as ingredients under Turkey. I think you may not be looking at the complete ingredient list. Every ingredient is there.
This was amazing. I didn’t have onion powder so I minced up an onion. Even my pickiest eater loved it and wanted 2nds.
I’m so glad! Thank you for trying it, Valorie!
This recipe was easy and very tasty. I have a picky eater and he said ” Delicious”. Definitely a recipe worth keeping.
Oh I love that! Thank you!
Tried and love this recipe! Definitely adding into our rotation!
Made this for dinner tonight! Winner! So tasty…served it with the roasted spicy broccoli. Comforting food for a cold night.
Everything went great with this recipe except for the amount of salt and pepper needed. I found my recipe to be a tad on the bland side without an ample increase of both. Otherwise, an easy recipe to follow and I even added some shaved carrot pieces toward the end for a little different texture. Served it with Jasmine rice. Table of 4 happy people. Thanks.
I would use onion when cooking the turkey. It needs that flavor. Other than that, this was VERY easy and I’m using it to meal prep which is very nice. I enjoyed making this. My parents used what I had left over for breakfast in a breakfast burrito with cheese! Really good, too 👍🏼
Great recipe!!!
It has become one of my family’s favorite.
This is lovely! Thank you so much!
Great recipe! I also added 1 pepper and 1 onion and some mushrooms it’s so delicious 🤤😍
Love the additions! Thanks, Jenna!
I cut the salt by half in all the steps and it was delicious! I roasted frozen french cut green beans and stirred them in at the last step. I also added a can of diced tomatoes. Thank you we loved it!
I was surprised by how spaghetti-ish this was and was a little hesitant as I plated it. My spaghetti hating husband said it was delicious (I thought so too) and I liked getting to have spaghetti flavors without noodles.
This was really tasty. I added half an onion when browning the potatoes. I will
definitely make this again.
Delicious! Thank you for the quick and simple recipe!
Loved this!
Absolutely delicious! My husband and small children devoured it. I served it with rice. I was heavy handed with the seasonings and I don’t regret it. I will be saving this recipe and coming back to it often.
Thank you for the kind comment, Anna! So happy you enjoyed it!
Love this recipe! We add onions and peas to ours and it’s soo yummy!
Very tasty! A green side salad made it complete, and the family loved it.
Mine came out perfectly. I used chicken broth instead of water.
Since I added extra potatoes, I ended up adding a whole cup of broth.
I had some leftover green bean casserole and served it over that.it was delish!!
Hi Christina,
I have made this a couple of times, and it’s one of my favorites so far! I am looking forward to trying other recipes from your cookbook as well. I love that everything is clean and healthy. Thanks so much for sharing! 🙂
Always looking for something different! This was just delicious and so easy. However, I think there was a tad too much salt for ME. I will definitely make again. Quick, easy and enjoyable. Thanks for the great recipe.
This is soooo delicious and easy! I’m making it again tonight but adding some fresh hatch green chili we just bought for some spice- will serve on top of white rice. This is one of my new staples to cook during the week! Thanks 🙂
Really really tasty meal! Made this tonight and it was a hit. Will definitely be adding this to my recipe book. A+ recipe 🙂
I was looking for a new recipe to use ground turkey in and came across this recipe. Absolutely delicious. My husband had rice with his and I did a cauliflower mash. The only thing I did different was to eliminate the tsp. of salt to create a lower sodium dish and added a little more garlic and onion powder to compensate for the salt. I also had some with my eggs this morning. Its a keeper, thanks!! Look forward to trying more of your recipes now that I found your site.
Wow! What a fantastic and easy recipe! I had a package of ground turkey I got as a mistake in a grocery order and didn’t know what to do with it, did a quick Google search and this is it!!! I used this exact recipe, doubled the amount of spice (our family loves spicy), added a cup of rinsed black beans and WOW! This will be a new staple in our menu rotation! So delicious and flavourful and the leftovers….MY GOD EVEN BETTER THE NEXT DAY!! Thank you for sharing this gem! I will forever return to this one! A million thumbs up from a very full and beyond satisfied family over here! 👍🏽
I don’t think I’ve ever left a recipe review in my life, but this recipe is so good I just had to!!
My Walmart delivery order accidentally forgot to bring my chicken breast which left me scrambling to make dinner with what I had on hand. I found this recipe and thought I’d give it a try and honestly, I had very low expectations. I was extremely impressed when I took my first bite and my husband was too!!! This will totally be in our dinner rotation. It’s such a great recipe and can be customizable for what you are in the mood for or have on hand. I used a mix of sweet potato and baby Yukon gold. I added also added shallot and diced onion. Next time I might even add carrots and celery. It was seriously phenomenal!
So easy and quick to prepare! A real winner when you have a toddler at your feet.
Loved this quick and easy meal! Added zucchini and was so delicious! A family pleaser for sure.
Delicious! I have made this twice now and my family has loved it both times. Simple and tasty dinner! Thank you
Thanks for the recipe. It was a new idea for making dinner with ground turkey. I didn’t follow it exactly. I put in a few tomatoes instead of tomato sauce. It tasted good. We all enjoyed it. Thanks again.
“What to make for dinner?” is a question I ponder daily. With 1 pound of ground turkey left in the fridge and desperately needing to grocery shop, I turned to google searching “ground turkey recipes” and this recipe came up. Skimming through it, I was grateful to see I had the ingredients in my pantry (woo hoo!) so no need to run to the store. I read through the rave reviews and told myself this one would be a winner. Yup, this sure was! I made this tonight and wow, this was GOOD!!! Flavorful and filling are a winning combination in my book. This whole meal came together in less than an hour and it was a hit. I sautéed onions with the potatoes because why not? I also used fire roasted diced tomatoes since I didn’t have tomato sauce and figured it would be fine and it sure was. The hubs approved the meal which is always an honor! This recipe marks all the check boxes: gluten free – check! Dairy free – check! Healthy – check! Delicious – check check check! Thank you, this was amazing and making it again and again!!
Loved this recipe. Made a couple modifications as preference.
1/4 t less salt.
I add diced onions while browning potatoes (cause I love onions).
Added browned turkey after simmering potatoes four minutes to prevent drying out.
My kids devoured this and they are picky! I am super excited to find something they BOTH will eat! I added seasoned black beans and taco cheese and it was SUPER yummy!!!
This came out AMAZING! Super easy, super flavorful, perfect over rice. A simple yet satiating meal. Love it. I substituted in rosemary and thyme instead of the oregano, basil and parsley as I did not have those in my kitchen. It still turned out delicious!
Very yummy for a healthy alternative.
This was simple and a winner dinner at our house! I think I am putting it in the rotation. Thanks so much for sharing.
It’s so delicious.
I’m obsessed with all your recipes, they’re all so practical and easy to put together. This one is a new fave, thank you!!
My family loves this dish! I added diced zucchini the last time I made it.
I had a pound of ground turkey on hand and no clue what to make so a quick google search brought me to this gem of a recipe. Luckily I had all the ingredients on hand and made it. WOW!! It was incredibly delicious. I have made this 2 more times since that initial google search and my family really enjoys this meal just as much as I enjoy making it. It is hearty, filling, and love that it’s mostly pantry items we already have. I will say that the third time making this, I sautéed onions and mixed that with the cooked ground turkey because I needed onions in this meal.Instead of tomato sauce, I used fire roasted diced tomatoes because that was all I had and it was even better. I added chopped fresh parsley at the very end (instead of dried) for the beautiful pop of green. This is a great meal for autumn/winter as it is such a lovely comfort meal. Thank you!
Absolutely fantastic and super easy to make! All the seasoning and spices give it so much flavor!
I made this today using sweet potatoes. I doubled the recipe and used our food saver to bag up most of it so that hubby has premade food for out of town meals. (He works for the railroad.) The only change I made was that I added a small can of Ortega mild green chiles. I had to try this as it smelled so good when cooking! I ate this with a fried egg and some monterey jack cheese for breakfast and it was PERFECT! Thank you for a great recipe!
Yum Yum Gimme Some – More!!! This was a huge hit tonight! Easy to make and so flavorful! I was really surprised and can’t wait to have leftovers for lunch tomorrow! Another great one Christina!
Made this recipe multiple times last semester to take to campus, one of my favorite recipes! Only note would be I preferred a little less salt but other than it is was great!
I am a salty gal for sure. 😉 I’m glad you enjoyed!
Flavor is phenomenal, I tend to be low on liquid so I use 15fl oz of sauce and it’s still taste good. Love love love this recipe
I added shredded carrots and some frozen peas for color and additional veggies. A delicious and filling meal.
Love the additions! Thanks for the comment and rating, Barbara!
Son and wife both loved this, me too! And they are both a little picky in their own way.
I’m happy they enjoyed it! Thanks, John!
Yum it was delicious definitely make sure to cut the potatoes really small mine took a bit longer and I thought they were small
Pretty good! I subbed marinara sauce for the tomato paste because I didn’t want to open up a 15oz can for 2-3 oz (I made single portion). Served over bed of spinach. Added a squeeze of lemon to balance out the dish. I’d definitely make again!
Really filling and tasty ! A must try
VERY TASTY meal and easy to make. I cut the potatoes on the small side and added steamed green beans. I will definitely make it again thanks!
Love the addition of green beans! So happy you enjoyed!
This recipe was easy and delicious! I added some onions. And, I must say though, it tasted a little better before adding the tomato sauce. Is there a reason why it’s added? Next time I am thinking about only adding a little bit so its not so overpowering in the entire dish.
Just personal preference! I enjoy the sauce in it and perhaps you’d enjoy a different brand more (or you could just omit of course). Thanks so much for the feedback, Matt!
I used sweet potatoes because that’s what I had, used 1/2 onion, zucchini, and a pkg of riced cauliflower. It was great, would make it again. Thanks!
Perfect! Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment!
This skillet meal was delicious! I served it over your roasted broccoli as you suggested which was a lovely addition. The potatoes needed a bit more time ( my electric stove heat is inconsistent 😩) but they turned out almost creamy and the texture was perfect against the ground turkey and crunchy roasted broccoli. I could totally see the turkey potato combo going well with a fried egg on top or maybe even wrapped in a tortilla with scrambled eggs and hot sauce…that’s if we hadn’t eaten the whole skillet!! Simple, well seasoned and delicious!!
Thanks so much for the comment, Amanda! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Hello – is the nutrition for the entire dish or one serving? And if serving what is the serving?
Hi! Nutrition information is for one serving (assuming you divide the dish into 4 servings).
Yummy! My husband and I enjoyed it. This made enough for two people. I appreciated all the spices, but it wasn’t too much once completed. I made some cauliflower rice, (who actually likes cauliflower?) and placed this meal right over it and didn’t notice the fart smelling vegetable! Thank you for clear instructions and a tasty recipe.
The fart smelling vegetable comment got me laughing! Thank you, Jess! So happy you enjoyed this recipe!
This is delicious quick and easy do happy I found this!!
That is so great to hear, Kayla! Thank you for taking the time to comment and review! 🙂
This was amazing! We added olives to it and made it even better. I tried again with fry seasoning and added Asiago to the mix and worked in some fresh pesto Oh My Goodness was that good. I might omit the potatoes and use the mix and stuff shells next time. Only labor intensive part of this is peeling and dicing potatoes.
Your additions sound so yummy! Happy you enjoyed!
This is delicious. Made it for the first time today and the family loved it. I was looking for something different to do with the ground turkey I bought on sale. Happened to have all the other ingredients and ta-da! Thank you.
Love when a meal comes together like that! So happy you enjoyed it, Monique!
Dry and over spiced!
It’s definitely got some spice! Shouldn’t be dry though so I’d suggest making sure you don’t reduce the liquid too much. Hope you find another recipe you enjoy more.
Wasn’t sure what we were having for dinner tonight but had all the ingredients for this. I added some cauliflower rice to it but no other changes. Great flavor!
My husband liked this but definitely had to cook the potatoes longer than suggested and I cut them small. Also added more sauce because otherwise it would have been too dry.
ABSOLUTELY MY FAVOURITE MEAL! So easy and tasty!!!
My husband found this recipe and I’m so glad he did! It was delicious!! Do you/anyone have any advice on how to make it a freezer meal?
I read the comments and made sure to dice the potatoes small! Potatoes were very tender! Super comforting but great macros.
Is the nutrition facts per serving or for the whole thing? It’s a delicious meal
Delicious! I have made this recipe several times whenever I have ground turkey and potatoes and it gets better and better. This recipe is so flavorful and filling! It’s fairly simple to put together too. The potatoes will cook fastest when they are diced small. The only addition I make is that I dice an onion and cook over medium heat in some olive oil until soft before I cook the ground turkey. I just love having the onion in this recipe. I have even fried an egg and added on top for the ultimate comfort meal. This recipe is a keeper!
Yay! Thank you, Alex!
My absolute favorite. Great flavor. Thank you for this recipe. When I am feeling uninspired as my family’s cook, I use this recipe and it lifts my spirits. Easy to make and it’s always delicious! Everyone loves it too! I’ve served it over steamed broccoli, green beans, pasta, or jasmine rice. All are equally delicious. I also don’t have onion powder so I SUB it with minced onion and add to the meat with the spices.
I totally understand that feeling of being uninspired some evenings! So happy you enjoy this recipe when you’re feeling that way. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a kind comment!
I don’t comment on recipes very often, but I need to say, this recipe is AWESOME! It’s on regular rotation in my home and is a huge hit with both my husband and 2 year old. I’ve made it with both ground turkey and beef, and I’ve added additional vegetables like carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, and zucchini. It tastes great every time, and the leftovers are excellent. It’s such an easy recipe and makes dinner a breeze. Thank you so much for sharing this!!
That thrills me to hear! It’s such a simple and versatile dish! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment, Karthryn!!
I only had 3 cups of potato, but I did everything else per the recipe. My husband and I both found it a little spicy. I don’t know what it was that gave it such a kick…..or maybe our palate is getting a little more sensitive in our old age. Maybe I should have reduced the spices since I was short on potatoes.
Hi! Yes, if you’re decreasing the potatoes I’d definitely reduce the seasoning.
Super good,❤️
Thank you!
Words don’t give justice to this delicious dish. Amazing as tacos, over scrambled eggs, dinner or breakfast this a go to dish. Great combo of ingredients. Thank you!!
Love the idea of this for tacos!! So happy you enjoyed this so much, Zairna. And thank you for taking the time to leave such a kind comment!
Very Good. Everything was perfect.
This was excellent! My entire family loved it.
I absolutely love this dish and I made a second time last night for a Friendsgiving tonight. Due to time constraints, I used frozen diced potatoes (I do not recommend lol) and as a result it has turned out a bit mushy 🙁 Can you please suggest what I can possibly do to “fix” it? Also, I have it in a disposable aluminum pan in the fridge, so what temperature would you suggest I use to reheat it and for how long? I made it for a serving of 8-10.
This was pleasantly better than I expected! My whole fam liked it served it with some basmati rice and some air fryer crispy broccoli
This will be my second time making it now!
Made this and used diced tomatoes instead of tomato sauce! Thank you for this recipe!!!!!
I had put more seasons to then they told me to do but all that it was good you have more seasons because it was blend add creole seasons and all season to it
Amazing recipe! All three of my kids said it’s their new favorite recipe 🙂 After reading the reviews, I only added half a teaspoon of salt and didn’t add any salt to the potatoes and it was salty enough. I used Raos sauce and served it with steamed broccoli. Delicious!!! Thank you for this great recipe.
What is the serving size?
Hi Chris! This serves four so one-fourth of the entire skillet is a single serving.
Delicious!! I made the spicy broccoli to go with it and the whole meal was so so good! Thank you for sharing your recipes!!!
I am a fan of ground meat and this turkey recipe was easy for me to emulate. Served with potatoes, I enjoyed this dish thoroughly so did my little ones.
Great easy recipe. We’re serving over steamed cauliflower.
My husband and I love this recipe. We either use ground beef or sugar free ground Italian sausage in place of the ground turkey and serve over zucchini noodles. It’s become a favorite for us.
Winner, winner turkey dinner! I wasn’t expecting much from this super-simple recipe but the other reviews convinced me. So, I decided to leave a comment also. This is SO easy, SO tasty and SO quick. I served it with some avocado slices and it’s a total hit. It’s also a great base recipe to tweak and play around with. Thanks! I’ll definitely use this recipe again.
Love this whole comment! Thank you so much!!
Delicious, for lack of ingredients substituted cumin for chili powder, and cilantro for parsley, 1/2 the tomato sauce due to acid sensitivity. Loved this simple and tasty recipe, and tomatoes cooked perfectly. Making again soon!
Thank you 😊
***potatoes (not tomatoes)
So great to hear! Thank you, Shelley!
